PROJECTS
TEXAS TECH UNDERGRADUATE WRITING CENTER
Advertising Campaigns is the capstone course required of all undergraduate advertising students. This course is designed to help apply the skills and knowledge from previous classes to create a comprehensive campaign for an actual Lubbock client— Texas Tech Undergraduate Writing Center. We called our campaign “Write Here Write There” as our client expressed how they wanted to emphasize the asynchronous aspect of this campus resource. My team and I planned, developed, and executed a written and oral advertising campaign presentation for our client at the end of the semester. The elements include situational analysis, research problems and opportunities, advertising strategies, objectives, creative, traditional media, digital platforms, and evaluation measures.
ADVERTISING CAMPAIGNS
I was responsible for the design aspects of this campaign. I created different mockups for potential Instagram posts, including enticing captions with call-to-actions.
ATOMIC LOUNGE & PIZZA KITCHEN
The Assignment
Students must pick a local company or brand and create a social media audit and digital campaign using concepts learned in class.
The Approach
To best display the current trends and state of business of Atomic, understanding how the company is positioned, especially in the minds of consumers, was essential.
Insight
Located across Texas Tech’s campus, Atomic is well-known to Lubbock locals. Targeting a younger demographic such as college students will reposition the brand as a bar for all the late-night cravings such as food, a drink, or a good time.
The Result
This project gave me the liberty to invent advertisements, brand identity, and content strategy.
SOCIAL & DIGITAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN
EVENT BRANDING
ADS THROUGH THE AGES EVENT
Logo created using Adobe Illustrator and Canva.
Event Branding is a Special Topics elective class where students learn the process of branding and advertising an event, by creating an event for the student body.
The Event
Ads Through the Ages catered toward students in the Media & Communications college and anyone interested in learning more about the advertising department at Texas Tech, with an emphasis on the 80s, 90s, and 2000s of advertising.
I was part of the Design Committee and created flyers to put up around campus, as well as graphics for the Instagram @ttueventbranding.
Event Debrief
Event planning is complex, but the Event Planning Model helps streamline the process. Phase 2, focused on detailed planning, including considerations like venue selection based on the target audience and program planning. Dividing the events team into committees ensures smooth execution, with responsibilities ranging from logistics to promotion. Securing sponsorships is vital for budgeting as it helps prevent overspending and ensures that necessities stay within the allocated budget. Following the event, Phase 3 involves evaluation and gratitude expressions to sponsors and participants. Overall, the event "Ads Through the Ages" was successful and received 73 responses from the feedback form.
I also created the event logo—inspired by the MTV logo—which was put on the t-shirts we handed out and branded on all flyers and graphics.
